Reserve is a natural area of land or coastal waters or inland characterized by the presence of living organisms or plant or animal or fish or natural phenomena of cultural, scientific, tourism or aesthetic value.
Reserves aimed the maintenance of natural living and resources, and preserve the health of ecological processes in the ecosystem and biodiversity conservation in the genetic groups of organisms that interact within the framework of the ecosystem.
Natural reserves in Egypt
Egypt announced these reserves within the framework of Law 102 of 1983 on Protected Areas and Law No. 4 of 1994 on the protection of the environment in Egypt. These reserves are announced through national Stratigic biodiversity conservation which aims of strategy to the Declaration of 40 natural reserves in Egypt, it is also working to establish a network of nature reserves and to support conservation programs. These reserves are designed to preserve the natural resources, also contribute the preservation of cultural heritage and civilization of many important areas.
